"Carnegie Hill: Fabulous and Quiet if You Can Afford to Live Here"
This section of Manhattan is prized because it's quiet, well maintained and ritzy. Many people live in well off high rises here although the quarters may be tight compared to dwellings in the other boroughs. Many people prefer doorman buildings that have AC and elevators. There are also plenty of older pre-war buildings that are walk-ups. Apts here may be more affordable but be prepared to walk up the stairs. If there is an elevator it will be tiny!
