"A Bit of a Square Triangle"

The Silver Triangle neighborhood in Venice is the southern most point of the well known coastal city, right at the point where it borders Marina del Rey. It is a largely residential neighborhood though its southern most edge, at Washington Blvd., has a plethora of restaurants and stores, mostly of the pedestrian kind. At the far eastern corner where it runs into Albert Kinney, West Washington Blvd. has a hotel row with a Holiday Inn and a Quality Inn—this is the place that many tourists to the area stay when visiting. West Washington Blvd. most resembles Sherman Way in the Valley with its wide lanes and palm trees (except of course that the southern side gives way to the wide open spaces of Marina del Rey). There are several restaurants here, but they are mostly fairly solid chains of the kind you can find in dozens of areas throughout the city—so they are clearly not drawing people in from other areas for the food. The exception to this general rule is Mosto Enetica, a pricy Italian place with modern art on the walls, a great deal of romantic atmosphere and outstanding food to boot.

West Washington Blvd. also has a series of newer looking condominiums and tract houses, though they don’t really have that sense of quirky uniqueness you might expect from the rest of Venice.

The area of the neighborhood just south of the Canals has a very pleasant, almost dull feel. The homes are a little bit older but the streets are well kept, with nice small front yards that are mowed and watered well. It doesn’t really feel like Venice, however. There are dozens of similarly looking neighborhoods throughout LA. As you get a little farther inland, the homes may actually become even nicer, though many of them are just as old in other areas—at least at first anyway. You can tell how much time the residents put into taking care of their front lawns and yards in this area. As you near the eastern edge of the neighborhood at Albert Kinney the houses are a little more run down. Even Albert Kinney which is one of the most beautiful streets in LA north of Venice Blvd. is not longer really conducive to walking at this point—feeling a bit too wide and uninteresting to warrant such close inspection at this point.

The area is relatively safe compared to the rest of Venice. Of the 14 murders that have taken place in Venice since 2007, none have happened within the borders of this neighborhood.

Despite being a bit less interesting than other sections of Venice, this is a good place to live if you really want to live in Venice. You will find, however that despite being a little way from the action, the Venice name is enough to fetch 2 grand for a one bedroom, even here.

"Awesome neighborhood"

Silver Triangle is a part of Venice located just east of the Canal area. This is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city as far as beach living goes. The streets are comprised of little beach bungalows and they are so adorable. The houses are all small and range from craftsman to modern. And, a lot of them have little yards which is pretty cool especially if you live on a walk street. The neighborhood is really expenisve for what little piece of house you get; but, it's understandable because of the proximity of the beach (walking distance) and the fact that you are literally surrounded by a million things to do.
Washington Street borders Silver Triangle to the south. There are about a thousand restaurants and bars on Washington and they are all great in their own way. And, a lot of them have outdoor seating which is fantastic on a lazy summer (or winter day). Abbot Kinney borders Silver Triangle to the east. Abbot Kinney is one of the more renowned streets in Venice -- it has fantastic shopping and great people watching. You could sit at Urth Cafe all day and watch the characters walking up and down this street.
Silver Triangle is, in my opinion, a perfect neighborhood. The housing is darling, there is tons of shopping, the beach, great restaurants, you name it! It's got a great vibe and it's so charming.
