Overview

Markham is the fourth most popolous municipality in the Greater Toronto Area . It was first settled in 1794. Today it is home to many cultures and can lay claim to be Canada's HI-TECH CAPITAL. Markham's municipal airport is known as BUTTONVILLE. Linked to the concern of Urban growth, Markham has implemented a transit system known as Viva to ease the strain on the congested roads.It is  an express bus service that has the ability to alter immediate traffic signals  as not to be late.Heritage streets like main street preserve the OLD TOWN FEELING.Markham is home to several large shopping malls.
