Memorial Day

I just got out of surgery on Monday and was told to relax and get plenty of rest. So I'll be in and out of bed.

@hhusted how did that go? I dont want to sound intrusive but do you need radiation or some such treatment? An aunt of mine is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer in India and her surgery was also earlier this month..now she has been put on radiation treatment which will be followed by medication for the next five years..but its good to know you are feeling well enough to be back on your computer!

No plans thus far... I'm just assuming someone will make use of the backyard and the grill. I'll probably just go down and join them!

The surgery went very well. They had to take out a small part of the bone from my gum to the bridge of my nose in order to get all the cancer. I have to be careful I don't blow too hard or I'll rupture and start bleeding. Right now I have an apparatus installed in my mouth to replace the teeth I lost. So talking can be difficult at times. Sorry, if I am a bit too graphic. I'm sleeping much of the time. I'm only on my computer for about 3 hours in a day. At least till I get sleepy and tired again.

Barbeques on the horizon here. What else would one do on Memorial day?

The beach...?

@NeverSleeps In NY? But there are really no decent beaches here...

It seems that people have left the city in droves, though! There is SO MUCH PARKING everywhere I go. My street is half-emptied of cars, something I haven't seen since Thanksgiving times. My guess is that, seeing as how the city lacks for decent beaches, people left to go to them? I'll try and question my neighbors when they return, to see just where they went.

I myself am going to go somewhere where I will be welcomed with a cold bottle of Cava and maybe some ribs? Pork ribs!

@BroadwayBK ooooh a chilled bottle of Cava is my drink of choice as well!

@Ajadedidealist: Thanks for thinking of me. You are so kind. I just had another procedure done at the hospital this week. So I am a bit sore. But the doctor told me I am healing faster than expected. That is a good thing.
