"A quiet little town with pleasant views"

Only 153 people call Rye home, but those are 153 lucky people in my opinion. While Rye is the perfect setting for those who want to live the laid back, quiet lifestyle, it may not be for everyone, but here you'll find scenic views: gorgeous valleys with rivers and streams running through it. On the land surrounding town there is abundant wildlife in the form of wild turkeys, deer, elk, and small game. There are few businesses here but Colorado City is just 10 minutes away and if residents need even more shopping and dining options than Colorado City offers, Pueblo is just over a 1/2 hour drive from Rye. The average median home price in Rye is $139,948, although this number is constantly rising as land prices go up. The median household income for Rye is $32,471 which is also lower than the state of Colorado's average.

While Rye may not be on too many people's lists of places to visit, there is one pretty cool thing to see if you're in the neighborhood. Just west of Rye in Wetmore, Colorado is Bishop's Castle, one man's dream of building his own castle. Jim Bishop began building his vision in 1969 and hasn't stopped yet. A popular tourist attraction, this castle is very cool to look at, although the inside isn't quite as impressive as the outside. It is a neat thing to see though, if you're in the area.

For families who have children here, both of the schools rate above average when it comes to state testing standards. Many of the residents seem happy with the schools as well.
