"Decent in Garden Lakes area, the rest is turning into Camden"
the "good side" of Lindenwold which was always the Garden Lakes section is shrinking every year. As of 2014, the best part of Lindenwold is a small area in Garden Lakes bordered by Laurel Rd and Chews Landing Rd. The Blackwood-Clementon Rd side is just horrible. The "safest" apartment complex is Kings Row, followed by Chadwick Village. Laurel Hill apts are also decent since they border the far more affluent Chews Landing area. Georgetowne, a condominium complex, is still relatively nice but is experiencing more vehicle break-ins and property thefts lately from outsiders coming through. The best way to test a neighborhood in NJ for safety is what I call the Wawa test: check out the local Wawa at all hours of day and night. The Wawa on Chews Landing Rd near Laurel Rd is probably the nicest Lindenwold area Wawa in terms of "weirdos" hanging out; you can stop in after a late movie at midnight and not feel threatened at all. The homes around Laurel Lake are modestly priced and are in relatively safe areas, but do experience vehicle break-ins occasionally and most of these homes do not have garages. The taxes in Lindenwold are ridiculously high for the horrible schools and unsafe environment. Overall, Garden Lakes section is a decent area for starting out, but get out as soon as you can because I've lived in Garden Lakes for 25 years and have only seen it get worse, not better.
