"Nice place to live"
Been here since 2011. Public transit isn't great, but if you live within the El Paseo De Saratoga Shopping Center area, public transit is a little better than average.
WSC has 4 crisscrossing bus lines that go to important places:
82 - Downtown San Jose and goes along Hamilton Avenue
26 - Eastridge Mall to the east and Lockheed Martin to the west. Also cuts through downtown Campbell. Transfer to 25 for De Anza Community College.
57/58 - Westvalley Community College
This area is only a 20 minute drive from downtown San Jose, which has some clubs and restaurants. For tech Professionals, it is near the job center Sunnyvale. In Campbell, there is a 30 minute lightrail ride to downtown San Jose.

"Excellent place to grow up"
A very nice area. It's hard to know what to write because the other two reviewers covered it so well. Lived here from 1981 - 2011. I still visit once a month to see my parents.
However there is a small rundown pocket between Donna Ln and Lancaster Drive. Another pocket is Del Coronado Apartments.
Public transit sucks around here. You'll have to do some walking to get to most bus stops and the busses don't run that late. If you want great public transit access, I recommend the immediate Westgate Shopping Center area or Downtown San Jose.
I am curious why Cambrian's considered not great for parking... Parking is quite abundant around here.
I would most recommend this area to families with kids. For singles, downtown San Jose has some nightlife and isn't far away and for tech professionals, it's near the tech center Sunnyvale.
