How safe is Adams park for gays?

I am a mid 50s gay white male with 2 dogs and saw a condo in your nieberhoog that I like and need to know just how safe and friendly Adams park is.I lived in Atlanta 14 years ago a have been in Houston tx since.I pliane on move back soon.any help would be appreciated. thank you
