More than 20 years ago, leaders from the City of Altamonte Springs, Florida created a development plan to position their community and its prime interstate presence as a central place where residents could live, work and play. The City of Altamonte Springs created a vested, area-wide Downtown Development Regional Impact in 1986, the first in Central Florida, along with a Community Redevelopment Agency and a Central Business District to create the framework for a developer to execute a unique mixed-use development.
Because of this progressive approach to community building, the City now hosts some of the finest and most award-winning blend of residential, educational, healthcare, commercial and recreational uses in Central Florida.
