Any tips from locals for finding an apartment in Ashbury Heights, San Francisco?

Craigslist is always a good way to find anything in SF. Then other other trying find apartments via Padmapper and sites like that, you might try just walking through the neighborhood. People post their apartments for rent sometimes just by putting a sign on the window. So keep your eyes opens when you are in the city.
