What is an affordable town to live in - not in Aspen, but nearby?

I'd say Carbondale if you still want to be in the Aspen area. Its at the foot of beautiful Mt. Sopris and along HW 133 that runs along Crystal River there are some nice areas to by land and cabins and Penny hotsprings in right off the road and it is free and open. I love that area.
