Is Mellwood, Atlanta a good neighborhood for 1st time home buyers?

Mellwood, Atlanta has mixture of residential homes and shopping stores all relatively close to each other. This may or may not be your cup of tea. On the plus-side, the cost of living in Mellwood is fairly reasonable. What street in Mellwood are you considering, because not all of Mellwood is the same? Some parts are a little rougher than others. I'd say do your research and check it out to see what you think. Best of luck!
