What's the best affordable, but trendy area for a young professional in Atlanta?

I've lived in the Suburbs around Marietta, but I'm looking to move further into Atlanta by 2015. I'm an esthetician, and I currently work in Buckhead, but there is no way I can afford that cost of living. Any where that's just as trendy, but cheaper? Oh and closer than the Kennesaw/Marietta area?
