"An Aurora neighborhood lying east enough of town to be quiet and traffic free"
Aurora Highlands is a nice area that lies on the eastern border of Aurora. Because of the location there is minimal traffic and a few minutes drive to the east will give you a feeling of wide open spaces. The homes in this area are nice and well tended.
Schools in the area are average rated, with Rangeview High School being rated higher than the rest. The high school itself is a nice building with a great campus that includes tennis courts and an indoor swimming pool.
Traffic in this part of town is almost non-existent as it lies so far east. There is a little congestion around the schools in the morning, but no more so than in any other area with this many homes. The neighborhood is made up of primarily families and professionals, with some retirees there as well. Due to the close proximity of E-470 tollway, this is a great location for anyone who works at Denver International Airport. Although it's a distance away, the tollway makes it an easy, quick, and traffic free route.
There aren't many restaurants in the neighborhood but there are a few gas stations and banks. Just a couple miles farther west there are numerous places to eat, shop, and do business. The nearest mall is only 10 minutes drive.
There is a nice feel to the neighborhood with open spaces nearby and a friendly, family atmosphere.
