Best place for a single mother (30yrs old) with a 7yr old

I am originally from the south, Atlanta to be exact, so I'm use to the fast pace of the city and always having something to do and be involved in along with my 7 year old daughter. I'm only 30 so I still want to be amidst the night life but at the same time have the confort of a family neighborhood. Would anyone reccomend this area for me?
