"Bethune is a small town with an agricultural feel close ot Kansas"
Bethune is out in the far eastern border of Colorado, just 20 miles from Kansas. The average household income is about $29,000/year in Bethune and there are about 300 people who call the little agricultural community home. Since it is along I-70 there is a lot of trucking industry related jobs. Bethune is way too far to commute on a regular basis to the front range cities of Colorado.
Pros
- quiet
Cons
- far from Front Range
- far from shopping options

"A small agricultural town on the eastern plains"
Bethune is a small agricultural community of 237 residents that lies on the eastern plains of Colorado. The population is about 75% white and 25% hispanic. A good portion of the town works in agriculture as this part of the state is abundant in land for growing crops. The median household income here is $51,453 which is just slightly below the state average. The average median home price is $102,190 which is considerably lower than the state average, so Bethune has a great cost of living. However, outside of growing crops, there isn't too much to do here. There are no restaurants or businesses and there is only one school, an elementary. Although there aren't any restaurants or dining here, Burlington is only about 10 minutes away. This is also where kids go to school after elementary.
As many other small Colorado towns you can see remnants of the past in the older and sometimes worn buildings. Bethune has been around since the very early 1900s. Rumor has it a Native American was trapping in the area and told some men at trading posts about the great trapping near here. Some men moved out to trap, but didn't have the success he did but decided to stay anyway.
