""Nice Area with Drawbacks"
Waldrop has the ability to be a beautiful neighborhood. Everything that you need to raise your family is nearby. The hospital is about twenty five minutes away. There are a lot of fast food restaurants around but, quality fine dining restaurants are not close as I would like. In order to get fine dining you would have to go downtown Atlanta, Buckhead or one of the surrounding areas. There are four malls close by. South Dekalb mall which is less than five minutes from this neighborhood. North Dekalb mall is about fifteen minutes away. Stone Crest mall is twenty minutes away. And Northlake Mall is about twenty minutes away also.
There are plenty of walking trails close to the area and Stone Mountain Park offers a superb walking and hiking trail. Stone Mountain Park is twenty minutes away.
The closet hype area for the nightlife would be downtown Atlanta or Buckhead.
As far as everyday concerns and needs this is really a great area because you can grab a quick bite to eat, get a class at Perimeter College, grab some groceries at Publix, Kroger or one of the neighborhood markets. The schools in the district rank pretty well in the Ga listings.
Also the crime rate in the area has gone down considerably, the only negative that I would say about the area is the value of the property is going down because of the housing market and a lot of investors are coming in and buying the properties. After doing this they are leasing or renting out the properties and as far as I've seen a lot of renters don't care about the property which is causing the appearance of the neighborhood to go down.
