"Could be worth a look"

This neighborhood got some water during our flash flood back in May. That little section of this oddly-bordered area that sits south of Davidson wound up with some damage. Again, thank goodness that stretch is business/industrial. I know the damage is devastating to those involved, but at least we’re not talking about people’s homes here.

Most of this “Boscobel Heights” neighborhood—see TravelGal’s notes regarding that name—most of this neighborhood is residential. And, happily, many of the homes have been there long enough to have real trees in the yard. That varies by street, though, so take a look around.

My hubby would take it amiss if I didn’t point out that this area is right next to the Riverview Golf Course, a public golf course associated with Shelby Park. Unfortunately, I haven’t heard what shape it’s in since the flood.

MTA’s route #4, the Shelby Avenue bus, runs along the northern border of this neighborhood.

"Same as Cayce neighborhood"

For all practical purposes, Boscobel Heights is the same area as Cayce. In fact, Boscobel Heights was later named Cayce. The centerpiece is the James A Cayce Homes. It is an impoverished neighborhood, but it is near some neat areas.

Nearby is LP Field, home of the Tennessee Titans football team. Residents can easily go downtown via the pedestrian bridge to enjoy restaurants and nightlife. In the other direction is East End, and all the fun things at 5 points and elsewhere in East Nashville.

The crime rate is apparently pretty high in this area.

"Not To Far From The City"

Boscobel Heights is located near Shelby Ave and Woodland Street of Nashville. The area is not to far away from the I24 interstate which connects downtown Nashville to other areas of Nashville as well. Located not far away is LP Field which is home to the Tennessee Titans.

LP Field is kept busy during all times of the year with concerts as well as football. When looking to enjoy a good tailgating party, you will want to spend your Sunday mornings during Football season in the parking lot of LP Field where numerous vehicles park all day long to enjoy cold beer and good BBQ before the start of the home game. Known for being home to the concerts of the CMA Music Festival, you can enjoy 4 nights of Country Music here in the beginning of June each year.

The Boscobel Heights area offers a higher crime rate than other areas of town as many individuals from the housing complex wander around the local neighborhoods of Boscobel Street. The housing complex offers home to many of the individuals of Nashville who can not afford much to live in. The complex is well known for not wanting to be in the area after the sun sets as many thugs come out at night.

Looking for a park to enjoy on your day out, you can stop by Kirkpatrick Park or visit the Douglas Park to hold your picnic at. The Shelby Park is not to far away where you can enjoy the greens of the Riverview Golf Course. Located right on the Cumberland River, the park and golf course is kept hopping during the colder months as well as the warmer months.

When looking for places to choose from when looking to shop for groceries as well as other household items, Wal-Mart is not to far up the interstate. If you do not want to go all the way to the local Wal-Mart, you can stop by the local Kroger store located on Dickerson Pike or the local Piggly Wiggly located on Dickerson Pike as well. Either of these stores will accept credit cards as well as other methods of payment. Both stores will offer daily and weekly specials to help you save money.
