Is Bowery in New York City walkable? Can I walk to everything or do I need a car?

A car is probably more of a hindrance than anything. Bowery is very central, very walkable, and public transportation is easy from the neighborhood. Most things you'll need and want to do are within a few blocks so you'll be great without a car in the Bowery.
