What do YOU look for in an ideal home?

A place that feels good, good light, good neighbors and good views from patios and balconies if possible

I look for safety and location, first and foremost. I try to avoid neighborhoods that are full of businesses like liquor stores and pawn shops, since that usually means more crime and poverty in my opinion. That said, I've never been too proud to live in cheaper housing - I just prefer an apartment / neighborhood with good upkeep and safe environment. Also, I'm an outdoor-person, so I appreciate something with a view, or something near to a park or walking / biking trail.

Quality construction is first, even before location. I hate those new homes you go into and they just feel like they're going to fall apart in 10-20 years!
