Should any parts of Brighton Park in Chicago be avoided more than others?

The eastern part of Brighton Park (East of California Avenue) has more gang activity than the area west of California.

Brighton Park isn't a dangerous neighborhood, but it has it's problems, so I'd try to stay as far north as possible, and maybe away from some of the parks at night. North because the South Side is just rougher than other parts of the city, and away from parks because of common sense.
