"Convenient...but not my favorite"
Carverdale is located in Northwest Houston, just North of Spring Shadows. It is conveniently located close to Hwy 290 and Beltway 8. Main roads traveled in the area are Tanner Road, West Little York Road, and Gessner Road.
There are a wide variety of homes here spanning from 50-year old run down shacks to 3-year old middle class brick houses. Real estate including apartment housing is very affordable compared to other places in Houston. This is primarily an African American portion of Houston, and you will find shops and dining catered to this ethnicity. Here you will find a variety of religious centers, community organizations, and parks such as Caverdale Park, Independence Park, and Fresh Meadow Park.
