"Pretty Nice, Affordable Castro Valley Neighborhood"
As the name points out, Central East Castro Valley is just to the east of the central part of Castro Valley--the section of Castro Valley where you will find the BART station and the stores. The proximity to BART means that you could, in theory, live here without having a car.
This is an older neighborhood, with the majority of homes here dating from before 1960. In fact, most of the newer constructions here that date from later than 1980 tend to be townhomes. As you might expect, many of the older homes in this neighborhood are the smaller Ranch homes that were so common in middle class neighborhoods in the 1950’s.
The medium home here sells for around $315K.
As throughout Castro Valley, schools here are great, with the usual high marks on test score and other object measures.
This is also a pretty safe neighborhood with barely a handful of assaults and robberies.
It is a pretty nice spot. Relatively affordable and very good for commuting.

Central East Castro Valley
"A quiet and upbeat neighborhood"
Central East Castro Valley is a trendy and modern neighborhood in the Castro Valley area. The apartments sort of resemble modern and upscale Euro style apartments with a touch of sophistication. The streets all somewhat flow together to allow for a smooth transition between street walkers and drivers. It gets a lot more crazy once you hit the 580. There are plenty of small cafes and lovely vintage art galleries to explore. There are plenty of smaller creeks in the area which actually have some nice hiking trails. They are nothing compared to some of the trails that are north but they offer a nice and relaxing environment. Central East Castro Valley is really big on Valentine's day celebration. It is the oddest thing. People especially decorate the shops with Valentine's ornaments like it is Christmas. If your in love then Central East Castro Valley is the place to be on Valentine's day. :) The houses in the area are pretty nice. They can get pretty pricey.
