Should any parts of Chelsea in New York City be avoided more than others?

All of Chelsea is fine. West of 9th is not ideal after midnight but that's only because it's so quiet -- not because of the neighborhood. It just depends on what you like. West of 7th is quiet and there are a lot of brownstones and less people. East of 7th is quite busy and has a lot going on 24 hours a day.
