What is parking like in Chelsea, New York City?

West of 7th isn't horrendous but it's not ideal. If you're just coming in for the day, you can find parking somewhere west of 7th. East of 7th, forget it. It's packed to the gills on the east side. Most people that keep cars in the city have to store them in parking garages for about $500 / month. So, if you're planning on parking long term (i.e. living in the neighborhood and keeping a car), I wouldn't leave it on the street. There's too much theft and you'll spend too much time looking for a spot.
