Would you recommend the Chelsea neighborhood in New York City for singles?

Yes and no. There is a fantastic singles scene for the gay community in Chelsea. And, there are some great bars around 14th street and around 25th. But, the neighborhood as a whole isn't fantastic as far as bars and restaurants go. Chelsea is a fairly young neighborhood as far as demographics so there's a lot of milling about; but, usually people settle in other neighborhoods for a big night on the town.
