the walnut room
Back when Macy's State Street was Marshall Fields and The Willis Tower was The Sears Tower my family began a tradition of going to the Walnut Room for brunch- which is the restaurant on the 7th floor of Macy's (Marshall Field's)
They accept reservations- except during the holidays- (makes NO sense to me). So plan on waiting a while. It is not a culinary experience like Alinea or L20 but it is decent. We go more for the tradition and family time than anything else.
The Walnut Room is reasonably priced and has a kids menu so the whole family can go and enjoy. Typically we start at the Walnut Room, then see Santa then head to the Christkringle Market- it makes for a full day.
