Transplant Seeking Recommendations for Chicago Neighborhoods

You might have some good luck right nearby in the West Loop, but otherwise I'd go a bit north. You'll find some very nice neighborhoods like the Near North Side, Lincoln Park, Uptown, and if you go even further north to a very local suburb, you'll find Evanston, which is fantastic for just about everyone, and has quality commute times if you use the trains right.
