Underground Dining in Chicago?
I saw a story about this on the local news a few nights ago. It was big news to me since I'm not much of a "foodie". No, this is not about dining at restaurants in the subterranean Pedway. Apparently there are quite a number of local chefs, hosting these high-end, movable feasts around the city. Here's a link to the story as reported on Channel 5 News: http://www.nbcchicago.com/around-town/food-drink/underground-dining-98282004.html
Well! As if Chicago didn't already have an overabundance of fine-dining restaurants, now there's this secret clan of chefs and patrons starting yet another dining trend. It reminded me of the movie "The Freshman" - imagine, a restaurant posing as a front for the protection of endangered species. I'm sure that's not the case here. Ostriches and Octopi are not endangered species. Still, the menu items for which these animals are the source is WAY too exotic for my taste! But perhaps for the trend-setting, adventurous, refined palette, this underground dining experience is "tres' jolie".
