What are some solid city neighborhoods to raise a family in?

One area I recommend is Beverly. It's a somewhat Irish area, and the home prices aren't too bad. It's fairly safe overall and you shouldn't have any troubles on that front. I really like it here, and I've had some great times, all of which were family friendly. It's not the type of area you go bar hopping, which is good for a family as well.

I'd also suggest checking out Lakeview. This area is a bit more expensive, but it's still good for kids, and Wrigley Field is right there, so you can always take the kids to a ball game.
