There are several events relating to breast cancer awareness in Cincinnati. The end of September sees the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Susan G. Komen also has a "Spin for the Cure" event which raises money and awareness for breast cancer. Another annual event for breast cancer awareness month is "Bras with Flair on the Square". This event is held every October and features bras decorated and donated for a contest, with most being sold for donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
October sees the the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk from the American Cancer Society. The walk takes places from Yeatman's Cove on the river. Another event from the American Cancer Society is "Paint the Square Pink." This is a breast cancer awareness event held on Fountain Square in Downtown Cincinnati' the even offers information on breast cancer and access to resources, as well as entertainment and raffles. The Breast Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati also hosts a Survivorship Celebration.
National grocery store chain, Kroger, headquartered in Cincinnati, is going pink for breast cancer awareness month. Their headquarters, in Downtown Cincinnati, has been lit with a pink light for the month of October. They also feature many items in their stores which donate money to finding a cure for breast cancer.
