Yes, definitely! People use it to get from one side of the river to the other for special events or just for a nice stroll. If you're going to a Reds game or other event on the Cincinnati side of the river, you might find way better parking availability and pricing if you park on the Northern Kentucky side and walk over the bridge. The converse is also true if their are events going on in Northern Kentucky.

Currently, a study is in the works to determine the structural feasibility of developing the Purple People Bridge as a shopping and entertainment complex, along with a hotel. The engineering study is supposed to be completed over the next several months. If it is determined that the bridge can hold the added weight, the goal is to make this new development and international destination.

I do, its a great walk and my kids love it too. Nice place for a weekend walk to the park and then a nearby eatery for a bite.

Sure! I use the Purple People Bridge every once in a while. I used it recently when there was a music festival at Sawyer Point. It made parking much easier--I parked in Kentucky, then walked over the bridge to the festival. Not only was it cheaper, but it was a beautiful walk as well.

Yes, people from both sides of the river really do use the Purple People Bridge to cross the Ohio River. It is especially popular when there are Reds games or other events going on along either side of the river. Additionally, many special events are held on the bridge, from fundraisers to weddings.
