Cincinnati is in the rain belt that plagues a rather narrow band that loosely follows I-65 and is east of the Mississippi River. The problem starts in the Texas triangle made up of Houston, San Antonia, and Austin. They are doing something down there that is causing the eastern half of the Nation to flood. They keep dumping on us and I do not appreciate it! Other areas such as Indianapolis and Knoxville get very little rain. These areas are either above or below the curve. It is an absolute mess. I hate it and it makes life miserable. I truly believe that we (in Cincinnati) live in an aquatic environment. Just put on your swim suit and get use to it! We live in a swimming pool.

To make matters worse, a several years ago Texas began getting rid of all their cattle because they could not feed and water the cattle. As always, they raised the price of beef because they still need the same money to maintain their high profits. But now that rain has returned and Texas is no longer in a draught. As expected, they forgot to return the cost of beef to pre-drought prices. Now they are swimming in profits while we just swim! I HATE YOU TEXAS!

Sometimes it seems to rain forever in Cincinnati. Unlike some places, I don't really think there's a particularly rainy season in Cincinnati as rain comes all year round...including thunderstorms. It seems that early Spring (March and April) and then maybe October and November have a lot of rain. Once it starts getting fairly cold, that rain turns into freezing rain or sleet...or even what they call a "wintery mix." Also, because Cincinnati has a very clay-based soil, a lot of places can easily flood or suffer from standing water if it has been raining heavily for quite some time.

April and May are the worst months for rain in Cincinnati. Some years it rains so much the ground gets soaked and the run off from even a light rain can flood your basement. Other years, it's not quite that bad.
