What's the best area of town in terms of nightlife?

Definitely in an around Over-the-Rhine and Downtown. Another place with some good nightlife is across the river at Newport on the Levee and also in Covington at Mainstrasse. These places both have a number of restaurants and bars and are popular places to go, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.

You can still find the best nightlife in Cincinnati in Over-The-Rhine (OTR). The Main Street area once was a lively place to go clubbing or socializing with your friends. Today, it is still a great destination for nightlife. The venues may have changed over the years, but you can't go wrong heading down on Main Street and Neons Unplugged, MOTR Pubb, Japp's since 1879, or Mr. Pitiful's. There are a number of other great places to dance and drink the night away in OTR, such as Below Zero Lounge or Grammer's on Walnut Street or Lackman Bar on Vine Street.
