"Hills Community near Glendale Community College"
College Hills is an older community with mostly Ranch Style homes situated on spacious lots. The homes are primarily built during the late 20th century. The prices range from 600-900K primarily. The average square footage is 2000 Sq. Ft. in the 600K range.
The location is great for commuting West into LA on the Glendale Freeway and easy access to 134 from Glendale Avenue. In the Southern portion of College Hills is the Glendale Adventist Medical Center and the Church taking up a large portion of the land in the Community.

"Glendale Community College"
People best know College Hills as the home of Glendale Community College. This is a particularly strong community college offering not only the expected set of GE courses that prepare students to transfer to CSU, UC and private colleges such as USC, but also many opportunities in athletics (they have several successful sports teams) and academics. One of the features on campus that draws more than the regular student body is the Baja Planetarium, which has regular nature movie shows as well as functioning as an actual planaterium.
Like many of the neighborhoods in this section of Glendale, older homes dominate this area, with most homes having been built before 1980. Lots of Ranch style homes dominate the hill giving residents a nice view of metropolitan Glendale. Unfortunately, the smog obscures many of what otherwise would be magnificent views. Despite the great views and good homes, homes and rents here are not in the same ballpark as their hillside neighbors like Chevy Chase or the Verdugo Woodlands.
To the south of campus, the neighborhood is mostly residential, but near campus you can find a handful of eateries and stores looking to capitalize on the presence of the nearby college. The food choices are not amazing, but if you like fast food like The Flame Broiler, you can definitely find it there.
In addition, the easy access to Highway 2, makes it a good place for those who need to commute to work. Overall, a good place to live and go to school.
