"Not enough shade"

In May this neighborhood (as mapped by StreetAdvisor) saw some flooding on 28th Avenue North (on the western border of the area).

Cumberland Gardens is primarily residential, with some small businesses and churches scattered through the area. Most of the residences are small one-story houses. There are a few town homes in the area, and Crestview Nursing Home is up on 25th Avenue at Clarksville Pike.

Most of the houses here are rather boxy, and often any trees in the yard haven’t yet grown high enough to offer any real shade. Some of the houses need paint jobs or other repairs; others are immaculately kept up.

MTA bus route 42 runs through this area, and route 22 goes along the northern edge.

"Close to Metro Center"

Cumberland Gardens is bounded by Buchanan Street, D.B. Todd Jr. Blvd, Clarksville, Pike, and 28th Ave. North.

It is a lower income area with average home price of $106, 395 and median rent of $463.

It is very close to Metro Center, where there are a lot of office and government buildings, and not far from the more tony Werthan Lofts and downtown proper.

Places to eat in the area include 400 Degrees, Pause and Go, Nick's Famous Barbecue, Ed's Fish and Pizza House, and the Chat & Chew.

"A little slice of Nashville!"

Cumberland Gardens is situated in between 26th Avenue North and 25th Avenue North. Not to far away from the main street of Buchanan Street and Clarksville Pike. Located near Rosa L. Parks Blvd, you will have a large number of fast food restaurants that you can choose from on a daily basis. When looking for a place to enjoy a day out, you will want to check out the Ted Rhodes Park. Not to far from this park is the Buena Vista Park.

The area is pretty busy during the day light hours as the Metro Center area of here is pretty busy with Government offices and numerous industrial buildings where a large number of the residents of Nashville work. The busiest times of day to get on and off the interstate in this area is first thing in the morning when all the workers are reporting to work and when they are done working for the day. Otherwise the traffic in the area is not that bad.

Tennessee State University is not to far away from the Cumberland Gardens. The Meharry and Fisk University is not to far away from Cumberland Gardens as well. When looking to attend school, there are a number of schools in the area that you can choose to go to when looking to start college courses. The Interstate is just a short distance away which will connect you to all of Nashville.

Dr. D. B Todd Jr. Blvd will run you straight into downtown Nashville which will allow you to shop in the numerous stores located along Broadway and Second Avenue. The restaurants located downtown are well known and are worth a visit into the downtown area. One place that you will want to check out is the Wildhorse Saloon which is owned and operated by the Gaylord Entertainment Center and Coyote Ugly which is well known for its bartenders dancing on the bar. Only the women are allowed to dance on the bar so ladies, bring your cowboy boots and prepare yourself for a shot and a chance to dance on the world famous bar.
