What are some good areas/towns in Colorado for retirees?

We would like to live in a 55 + community if possible. We also want to avoid heavy traffic (as in Denver). We enjoy nature, walking, and bookstores. It would be nice if there were a Shopping area nearby with stores/restaurants such as Super Target, Best Buy, Outback, Olive Garden, Chipotle, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc. Any ideas? Thank you!
