"A small town near the Kansas and Nebraska borders"
Eckley is a tiny little town with a population of only 257 people. It lies on the eastern plains off of Highway 34, only minutes from both the Nebraska and Kansas border. Unless you're a farmer, there isn't much to do here. There are almost no businesses and only a couple of churches.
With the remote location it's hard to believe people live here. It's about 15 minutes to both Wray and Yuma, both of which have more options as far as dining and shopping, although neither town has more than several thousand residents itself.
There aren't enough kids for Eckley to have it's own school system, so many are bussed. There is a private school here put on by the Methodist church called New Life Academy. It has 46 students in the K-6th grades.
The median household income for Eckley is $19,400 while the median home price is $50,700, both of which are well under the state averages.
