"Greener than it might look from the outside"
This is another of those areas that you shouldn’t judge by driving along the edge, especially if you come at it from Nolensville Road.
Nolensville Road is one of Nashville’s major traffic arteries; it’s wide, it’s busy, and it’s lined with businesses through most of Nashville. That means lots of concrete, bricks, cinderblock, and asphalt. (One exception is the stretch of highway at the southernmost tip of Glencliff. The Nashville Zoo is just beyond the Glencliff borders down there, and the zoo area is quite leafy.)
Glencliff starts showing its leafier side once you turn off the main highways and get back into the neighborhood. Lot sizes vary, and the houses are of a variety of styles and materials. This is an area where you can find some lovely fieldstone houses, which are usually easier to cool in summer than some other types of homes.
I can’t close without a note about Thompson Lane, the street on the northern edge of the Glencliff neighborhood. Thompson Lane is actually one section of a street that circles Nashville under four different names.
Thompson Lane becomes Woodmont Boulevard. Woodmont becomes White Bridge Pike. White Bridge becomes Briley Parkway, and Briley, in turn, becomes Thompson Lane again. Knowing which segment of this loop you’re on can help locals pinpoint you well enough to give you accurate directions.
I’m not seeing much public transporation for the Glencliff region. Metro Transit Authority’s bus #12 runs up and down Nolensville Road, and that’s all I’m finding for this area.

"An Economical Choice for Those Starting Out!"
The region of Glencliff is situated closely to Nolensville Road and Interstate 24. The region is mostly among those individuals who speak Spanish in their homes rather than English. The school is a good school and draws crowds to their games each weekend against other schools in Nashville and surrounding areas.
The houses and homes that can be seen along the Glencliff region are amongst the lower priced homes which make it a great area for those individuals who are looking to just start out on their own. The homes in the area are not costly and offer numerous places of interest nearby.
If you are looking for places to sit down and eat around Glencliff, you will want to check out the La Hacienda Mexican restaurant. The restaurant is just one of many Mexican restaurants in Nashville but is among the finest of all the restaurants. The Siam Café is not to far away from the Glencliff high school and draws a number of visitors to their café each day for the noodles and soups made.
If you are looking for a place to shop and buy your groceries at each week, the Bi-Rite location on Nolensville road offers a number of specials each week. If you want a bigger store to purchase your meals from, the Kroger and Wal-Mart are right down the road on Nolensville Road. The local pharmacy is Walgreens which is open until late at night which offers you a place to purchase your late night supplies for sick children.
Not to far away from Glencliff is the Hadley Park. At Hadley Park, you are offered a playground as well as a picnic area in which you can host a BBQ or allow your children to run free. Inside Hadley Park is a swimming complex that offers indoor swimming year round on a daily basis. Close to Hadley Park, near the parking area is the public library. Here you can take out books as well as pick up your yearly income tax papers.
You will not want to miss out on the Krispy Kreme location that is nearby to Glencliff in which you can get fresh donuts and coffee every morning or afternoon. If you want to enjoy an original sundae, check out the sundaes made here with fresh donuts and ice cream. A good tradition to be started before church on Sunday mornings.

"A working class neighborhood"
Growing up in Nashville, students from Glencliff would always tell those at my high school that we were rivals. That's OK, but we always thought we had a ton of rivals--not just them!
But aside from that, I am familiar with Glencliff because I work near there, and seem to be driving around there all the time.
It is a working class neighborhood, with mostly lower priced homes. Bounded by Nolensville Pike,
Thompson Lane, and I-24, there are tons of restaurants and strip malls. The two kinds of restaurants in the area tend to be either fast food or ethnic. This area has become very multicultural in recent years. For variety, try Abay Ethiopian, La Hacienda Mansqueria, The Dog of Nashville, Eddie's Eat Shop, Siam Cafe, Get It Together, and Aurora Bakery.
Located nearby is the Nashville Zoo, which has fundraisers such as Animal Affair: A Taste of the Wild.
