"The most accurately named town in Colorado"
Green Mountain Falls is a little town that lies just south of Highway 24 between Colorado Springs and Woodland Park. The area here is scenic with beautiful green mountains all around and waterfalls near hiking in this gorgeous setting. The town itself is small with just over 650 people living here. The homes here are all unique and the median average home value is $226,000, with a median income of $51,000. For anyone who may be planning a family getaway there are cottages for rent here where you can just relax and enjoy the surrounds or take a hike and explore what nature has to offer. Some of the homes here are also used just seasonally. There are also some duplex/fourplex housing units in the neighborhood.
The town has it's share of single adults although there are also some families living here. There is a trading post in town which features art from the locals called Stones, Bones, and Wood. There is also an historic gazebo next to the lake which is surrounded by cabins for rent.
There are a couple of restaurants located within the town as well as a new coffee shop. For more dining options, as well as medical and academic, both Woodland Park and Colorado Springs are within driving distance not to far off.
I would recommend Green Mountain Falls for anyone who wants to live the quiet life in a very small town.
