"A small stop between Denver and Fort Morgan"
The population of Hudson, Colorado is just under 2,400. This small town lies between Denver and Fort Morgan on Interstate 76. There isn't much in this town in regards to businesses, but it is a convenient stop for travelers seeking gas or fast food. Also located here is a medium/maximum security prison just north of the highway. This is a privately run prison which has a contract to house criminals from the State of Alaska. The facility is large and can be seen from the highway, but not from the town itself.
Since the town is small, many of the residents know each other well. The homes are all single family, which is mostly what you'll find here. The median home price is $180,000 with the median income at $55,700.
The school district here is part of Weld County and the schools rate slightly above average for state testing standards.
There are no medical facilities here; the closest hospital is in Brighton which is about 25 minutes away.
I would recommend this town for anyone who likes being away from the big cities and likes to know their neighbors. There is a laid back feel to the town which is a nice change of pace compared to life in the city.
