Hyde Park isn't too bad, though there's a little bit of crime in the area and I wouldn't call it super safe. That said, I don't think you need to specifically avoid it.

Crime in the Hyde Park area is relatively low. There are some areas surrounding Hyde Park with much higher crime rates, so you will want to be careful to avoid these areas.
