How is the Iveywood area Oakland staying under the radar as a cool place to live??

No idea- its hella inexpensive and close to restaurants, bars, coffee shops and public transport. Hopefully it stays a secret.

I agree- no idea. Pretty cool place to live and close to everything. You get cool things of the Town and San Leandro.

I suspect all the recent attention to Iveywood in Oakland is in response to the redevelopment of Foothill Square. People have probably realized the area is affordable and has tons of amenities in close proximity. Cafes and farm pop-up stands have sprung up with notice to residents outside he district. Hopefully we can kept it off the radar a little longer before we're flooded with those gentrifying bastards that have systematically invaded Oakland neighbors to the West and have changed the community profile. Keep Oakland Real!

Its staying under the radar because everyone is afraid of deep east - as prices for houses jump over 400k in places like Maxwell Park, we're able to keep it under 150k and can actually keep living without being forced out.

Good question?? Why would anyone want to live there? Must be by circumstance and not choice. Meaning too poor to live somewhere else. If you can't even attract white street punks into the abundant vacant houses it must be bad.

Why is there never anything featured about iveywood area of Oakland? I've recently discovered the area and its a true hidden gem- cheap houses with a lot of character, close to east bay parks, great access to public transport and bicycle lanes. Has all the benefits of the toney area of San leandro at a fraction of the price. Plus it's not a food desert, with existing grocery stores in close proximity and new ones on the way with the Foothill Square redevelopment. Plus lots are big and a lot of off the radar unban gardening is happening. Best of all, the area isn't overrun with hipsters. Real community.
