Is it safe to drive to Jefferson Park Los Angeles?

Someone is selling a $5000 RV and I want to drive out there to check out the RV then buy it and drive the RV home. I know that Jefferson Park is in South Central and alot of great music have come from South Central so I know it isn't as unsafe as racist folks make it out to be but I just want to make sure.
