"Gorgeous views from this neighborhood"
Ken Caryl is a very nice neighborhood on the western side of Denver at the base of the mountains. There are beautiful natural rock formations which are a part of Red Rocks along E-470. This area is very pretty with nice homes and a median home price of $220,000. This community has plenty to do for the outdoor enthusiast. There are lots of trails, parks, golf courses, hiking close by, and a great rec center with a large play area in the pool for kids.
There is some traffic in the area, but most of it is on the busier streets such as Kipling Pkwy, Wadsworth Blvd, and C-470.
There are plenty of restaurants and shops to choose from and if you can't find what you need, you can jump on C-470 and Park Meadows Mall is only about 15-20 minutes away. If you want to go to the mountains, you are close enough to get there in a very short time.
Overall, the homes are well tended and look very nice. I would recommend this area for families or outdoor enthusiasts who want to live close to the mountains but not directly in them.

"Ken Caryl Valley snugs up against the red rocks"
The Ken Caryl area is a suburb/community west of Denver along I-470. The neighborhoods backup to Littleton and along the beautiful red rock country. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is actually minutes away and you can jump on I-70 and head up into the Rockies quickly. Ken Caryl is gorgeous for its rock formations, beautiful homes and golf courses and views of the mountains.
Ken Caryl Valley houses a division of Lockheed Martin otherwise the area is fun of neighborhood streets, recreational facilities, parks and trails. The downfall of the area is that it is cut by I-470, although this is a positive thing for many so that they can get to Denver or other metropolitan places quickly. I have a friend who lives in the area and she really loves it, it feels like you are out of the city. It is an affluent neighborhood but doesn't really have a snobbish vibe. Another downfall is that many of the houses are very close together, but the pretty winding streets and cul de sacs somehow make it work.
