"Keystone - Ideal location for a quiet mountain home close to all the winter and summer sports"
If you are looking to buy a mountain home, Keystone is definitely a place to consider. You can buy a home or condo here within walking distance of the ski-lifts and restaurants, or if you want to ski other great mountains you can drive 10 minutes to Arapahoe basin or 20 minutes to Breckenridge or 35 minutes to Vail or Beaver Creek and all of these locations are on the Epic Pass ski ticket. In the summer, it is one of the most beautiful places in the world and you can hike or mountain bike from your doorstep to just about anywhere. There is also great golfing in Keystone as well as in the neighboring towns. Dillon and Silverthorne are minutes away and there you can find the Dillon Dam Brewery and the outlet malls as well as plenty of other dining options. For a mountain home, Keystone is the closest option to A-Basin and is also very close to Denver, so you can easily fly in to Denver and be home in a little over an hour and a half

"Not a place to call home"
I had the pleasure of working at Keystone in my younger days and although I loved it, I wouldn't suggest living there. Mostly, it's a ski resort with skiers and tourists. During the summertime there are also some tourists, but the place really slows down. It's a very pretty area but unless you'e a skier there isn't much here for you. If you're looking to live in the mountains there are better spots with more housing options and less of a revolving door feeling.
That's not to say there's no housing available, but it is mostly used for skiers and those working the slopes during the winters. Expensive condos can be found but they are right on the ski resort. The homes that are located in Keystone are expensive, but in my opinion there are better locations.

"Keystone is a great resort but not a place for family living"
There are a few homes in Keystone but by and large it is a ski resort and not a town. The vast majority of the buildings are rental properties or somehow related to the resort or serve the tourists. Keystone is a great place to ski, board and also has a lot of summer events and mountain biking. But this is really not a family town, but as I said there are a few roads off of the Montezuma Road area near the resort were some people live year around.
If you are interested in living up in Summit County or near Keystone the Dillon area is not far and up towards Breckenridge there are roads with nice homes and mountain properties. I imagine that the Keystone/Breckenridge area around Dillon and Silverthorne the cost of living is significantly higher due to the ski resorts. There are lots and lots of tourists year round, I-70 is a the major corridor through Colorado's Rocky Mountains.
If you can find a place to rent and you are a skier or better yet work at Keystone I would suggest checking out for rental homes or bungalows on Montezuma Road and the county roads that skirt off of it.
