Lincoln Square, New York City crime - do the locals think there is alot of crime in the neighborhood?

It's a nice neighborhood, so I wouldn't say there's a lot of serious crime in the area comparatively speaking. But, there are a lot of tourists milling about in Lincoln Center so I think theft is a bit of an issue. I've never felt unsafe there, though.
