With the poor economy and hay prices so high, locally hundreds of horses are neglected and many are literally starving. Unbelievably, guadians have abandoned horses in fields without providing food, shelter or a future home. CHR is overwhelmed with requests to take horses needing a home. The horses who reside at CHR are very happy and, those who were neglected; are healing. It's a wonderful experience to be there lending a hand for these American Icons. Habitat for Humanity is also involved in Longmont and has built homes for many folks. They also have a Restore in Longmont off of Ken Pratt and Sherman.
