I ride a bike. How can I use public transportation in Los Angeles?

Yes ! You can place your bike on the front of any bus or inside the Metro Line. I've used the Metro line a few times with my bike.

You can definitely take the Metro, though I wouldn't recommend it at Rush Hour. Here is a link that will give you the skinny (as the kids say):
