Sounds silly, but what are the best towns near LA to live? Must have a yard.

I looked at Bell Canyon...but that is a 40 minute drive, yikes! I keep looking, but it's hard. Looking for a yard (does not have to be huge, but enough), safe (no gangs!), not a whole lot of traffic (some is okay), good school system; yet easy to get around. I know...crazy right? Money is not a factor.

LA is a large city. So it would depend on what part of LA you are talking about. Bell Canyon is at the far west end of the San Fernando Valley so if you are looking to drive to downtown LA during normal work hours that 35-40 mile drive could take you 2+ hours. The 101 freeway is notorious for traffic jams during rush hour. Most parts of LA city will be within the LA unified school district. There are some great schools in LAUSD but also some not so great. There are many smaller cities within LA county that you may find better suited to your needs. The beach cities of the South Bay Area are wonderful places to raise a family, as are the cities on the Palos Verdes Peninsula which is about 20 miles south of Downtown LA. There are so many choices. It depends on your commute distance desired. But...A great choice is in the valley. The further the commute the larger the yard, but many options. 2 great options are Glendale and Burbank.

Check out neighborhoods in Glendale's Emerald Isle, Chevy Chase or Greenbriar. Awesome communities with nice size yards and close to LA and Hollywood.
